On Friday we said goodbye to our happy, smiley, lovely Ezra as he sets off on his new adventure! We are going to miss Ezra very much but we hope he has the most wonderful time at his new school.

As part of National Writing Day & our transition work, Onyx Class worked really hard and produced some brilliant work based on the poem ‘I come from…..’
We brainstormed who we are and what makes us us. Even though it was pretty tricky for some of us (as it’s easier to talk about other people than ourselves) we used our resilience and kept on trying! 🤩
After that, we then had a go at writing our own first drafts: even Mrs Booth and Mrs Coleman had a go! Here are some examples that we are particularly proud of!

This morning Emerald Class consolidated their learning of recalling one more and one less of a number. The children had to work in pairs to roll a dice twice, make a two digit number and record one more and one less. We loved being competitive and showing off our wonderful Maths skills!
Wow, wow, wow! 😊 I have been absolutely amazed by the incredible writing produced as we celebrated National Writing Day today.
Together Ruby Class put their brains together to come up with an amazing poem called ‘By the river…’ We are SO proud of it and couldn’t wait to share it with you all!
We all worked incredibly hard to demonstrate our beautifully neat handwriting! We also included super alliteration and great description! ✏️ ❤️ Y2? More like Y6 I think!!

Today Emerald Class celebrated National Writing Day! We worked hard as a class to create descriptive poem based around a beach scene. ☀️🏝

We had so much fun celebrating French Week today! 😊 We listened to French music, ate tasty pan au chocolat, learned about the Tour de France and even learned the French for colours of the rainbow! 🌈 We showed wonderful enthusiasm!!

As part of National Writing Day, Topaz class read the poem “I Come From” by Robert Seatter. The children then had 5 minutes to brainstorm everything about their own lives; family, friends, homes, gardens, hobbies, activities, holidays etc..
We then used the layout of Seatter’s poem to create our own poems. We are sure you’d like to read them too.

During French Week, we are learning about Tour de France. A very important part of the preparation for the cycling event is healthy eating !! Today, Topaz class have been learning the vocabulary for fruit and vegetables and creating healthy kebabs for the cyclists to eat.
Just to challenge them further , the kebabs had to be either all feminine nouns or all masculine nouns !! Wow now that’s tricky !!
