Buddy time 🤍

We have been really enjoying our socially distanced buddy time over the last few weeks! We have made chalk pictures to show our buddies together which was lots of fun! The Year Six buddies also helped Reception learnt to play boccia during Sports Week too! Today’s buddy time involved learning to pass the football. The Year Six buddies made fantastic coaches!

Andy Goldsworthy inspired art

For our team day challenge, Diamond Class worked in teams to create their very own land art masterpiece inspired by Andy Goldsworthy who specialises in making art made out of natural materials.

Diamond Class collected their own materials and shared them out between the teams so they each had a set of resources to use. They had to plan what they were going to do and work together as a team. We are so proud of how well the children worked together.

Each group tackled the task in different ways and produced lots of different shapes! Some groups made circular shapes, some made rectangular ones and another group made a spiral!

Reception had to be good at working as a team, they had to make sure they communicated effectively and also used their imagination! We were so impressed with their results – well done Diamond Class!

Diamond Class love their art activities!

Rainforest collages in Opal Class

This week is art week and we have been inspired by the different layers of the rainforest to create some layered pieces of art. First we took lots of different materials and and ripped them into smaller pieces.

Then, we used stencils to draw a range of animals that would be found in the rainforest and used dot work to add detail to the animals.

finally, we collaged all of our different colours and materials to create a rainforest with lots of layers just like the real thing.
