French Week – Tour de France

During French Week, we are learning about Tour de France. A very important part of the preparation for the cycling event is healthy eating !! Today, Topaz class have been learning the vocabulary for fruit and vegetables and creating healthy kebabs for the cyclists to eat.

Just to challenge them further , the kebabs had to be either all feminine nouns or all masculine nouns !! Wow now that’s tricky !!

The Tour de France is well known race that people from around the world compete in. There are 20 teams and 3 wildcards.

Can you research where the race takes place and what type of race it is?

Water Safety Week! ☀️🏖

This week the children have been celebrating ‘Drowning Prevention Week’ which commenced on 12th June. The campaign, which is run by Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) and is supported by a wide range of organisations including the RNLI, RoSPA and the emergency services.

The children have been learning to spot signs of danger at the beach and then played a fun game which helped them remember what each of the beach flags mean!

Thesaurus Crazy! 📚📝

Emerald Class worked really hard to ‘up level’ words in English today. The children discussed how we often use the same boring words over and over again and how it stops the reader from being interested. They then learned how to use a thesaurus to help find alternatives and had great fun looking for all the different options!

Challenge: Can you use a thesaurus to find alternative words for ‘kind’ and ‘happy’?
