The children in Topaz Class enjoyed working with a partner to solve product and sum problems around the classroom.
Here’s one to think about !!
Which 2 numbers have a product of 30 and a sum of 13 ?

The children in Topaz Class have had a very respectful day learning about Remembrance Day and taking part in our Remembrance Day service. This afternoon we completed activities around this important day including making a wreath to take home.

Today in Topaz Class we worked really hard to make frame structures for the start of our DT project. The aim was to build the most structurally sound construction without eating all the marshmallows!!!!

Well done to the green team for winning last week’s blog challenge.
This week’s challenge is :
What is this tool called and what was it used for ?

Today, Topaz class have travelled back in time to 500 AD to experience life as an Anglo Saxon.
We have learnt how to weave , make flour and most terrifyingly how to fight as Shield Maidens and Warriors.
An absolutely brilliant day has been had by us all.

After watching a short animation called Beyond the Lines, we thought carefully about the message in the film and discussed its meaning and importance.
I was very impressed by the children’s thoughtful responses and sensitivity.
Next, we brainstormed what soldiers might see, hear , smell and feel. We used these ideas to create CINQUAIN poems. Our favourites will be shared during the Remembrance Service on Thursday.

This week , Topaz class have been looking very carefully at a selection of newspaper reports and identifying the key features: headlines, 5 Ws, advertising, captions, direct and indirect quotes.

We want to share with you all some fantastic news- Naomi Kyle (Year 6) finished 3rd in the British Gymnastics Competition this weekend earning herself a very heavy & shiny bronze medal! This puts her 3rd in the country! Wow, wow, wow!

I am sure you will all join us in saying how proud we are of her and this just shows that hard work does pay off! 🤩
