Miss Poppleton and Miss Williams-Day had the most wonderful day meeting lots of our lovely new starters at a socially distanced door stop drop today! 😊✨
It was so lovely to see everyone’s smiley faces and to hear that all the children are so excited to start at our amazing School! 😊 We really can’t wait for you to join our Sound Family soon!
Each of our new starters was given a special Diamond Bear and his diary. 🐻 Diamond Bear loves adventures and can’t wait to spend the summer with our new starters! We can’t wait to read the diaries in September and to see all the fun Diamond Bear and the children get up to! ☺️
Thank you for a perfect day Reception Class 21-22! We already can’t wait to see you all again soon!
Ps- Remember to pop your magnet in your happy place! 😊 🌟
Diamond Bear and his special diary! A magnet of your new teachers 😊Special deliveries!!!! 😀
I can’t wait to celebrate Art Week with you all over the next two weeks!!!! ❤️ Paintbrushes ready!! 🖌 😊 In the meantime, can you solve the challenges below?
When you have cracked them, come and tell Miss P your answers quietly to win a special prize!! 🤫 ⭐️ 🎁
Challenge 1:
The piece of art below is called an optical illusion! An optical illusion is an image two people can look at and see totally different things!! How exciting! 😊😊 The two images are nestled in each other and you have to tilt you head to see them both! Have a look at the optical illusion below… 👀 What animals do you see?
What do you see? Ask your family what they see? Do they see something different? 🌟
Challenge 2:
Colour mixing!!! 🎨 we love to mix colours together in Ruby Class. We love to see different colours appear right before our eyes! It’s just like magic! ✨ Can you answer the colour mixing sums below? Test them out at home if you aren’t sure! 😊 (remember to ask an adult first of course!)
This week we demonstrated amazing teamwork as we built dens safe to shelter us from potential rainfall! We did a wonderful job and I was so proud of the amazing team spirit demonstrated by everyone! 😊❤️ Ruby Class, you are wonderful!!
We finished our session off making eggy bread over the fire! 🔥 We learned about fire safety and took it in turns to put water on the fire to safely put it out whilst sharing our highlight of the week and something we want to work on next week! 😊
Our final taster session of Sports Week was Netball with the Ladyhawks! 😊 We loved learning the footwork rule and were taught a handy tip of remembering to say “ice-cream” when we place our feet on the ground! 😊
Challenge: Can you teach your family the ice cream tip at home? 😊🤍 I bet you can! ⭐️
Our super coaches Sian and Katie were amazing and we all had the best time! 😊 Thank you very much!
We also want to say a big thank you to Miss Wade and Mrs Dale for organising such exciting sessions for us this week! ⭐️ We have truly loved every moment! 😊
Once again Ruby Class had the most wonderful day filled with lots of exciting sports taster sessions!! We started our day with… football! ⭐️😊⚽️ We had the BEST time working on our football skills! (Even Miss Poppleton scored a goal!! 😱😱 ..shocking, I know!)
Kyle our super footie teacher taught us many skills, such as how to control the ball, how to defend, how to save a goal and how to pass the ball carefully! We had SO much fun!! 😁😊😁😊
I was so proud of all the children today, not only with the progress in skills but also in confidence. A few children were nervous before our football session and felt they “couldn’t do football!” But everyone gave 100% and realised just how wonderful they are! 😊 We learned that when we set our mind to something we can do anything we want!
Well, we may have just found our new favourite sport!!!! 😁☺️ We had bundles of fun learning to play Boccia today! Boccia is a target ball sport which tests both muscle control and accuracy! We worked hard to improve our ball control throughout the session and we were so proud with our progress! 😊
Ruby Class had great fun learning to use directional language today! Our mission was to navigate our partner around the playground and cones using instructions. We used the language: forwards, backwards, left, right, clockwise, anti-clockwise and half and quarter turns to navigate our friends around safely! 😊😊 Well done Rubies! You were amazing as always! ⭐️
This afternoon Ruby Class had great fun in the sun taking part in a range of different sporting activities. We worked in teams and competed to be the best we could be! We did a relay, worked on our ball control skills, worked on our aim and throw in javelin, worked on batting and fielding in rounders and much much more! 😊 We loved it!
Ps- Look at those big smiley faces! 😊😊😊
I was so impressed to see such excellent sportsmanship and incredible resilience! I am so proud of Ruby Class! ⭐️ Keep it up!!
Challenge: How about setting up your own sporting activities for you and your family to take part in at home this week? Send pictures through to admin@sound.cheshire.sch.uk if you do please as we would love to see them! 😊 🎾 🏉⚽️
Wow, wow, wow! 😊🏏 Ruby Class had the best morning taking part in an All Star Cricket taster session with Harry!
Harry taught us how to catch, bat and bowl like a pro!! We played lots of games and really developed our batting and fielding skills! 🏏❤️ Ruby Class were smiling all morning and have already asked when we are next playing cricket. I think Miss Poppleton might need to dig out the bats again soon!
