👕👚 Fashion at its best! 👗👖
This afternoon Onyx Class showcased their finished, hand-made clothing for the rest of the school in their very own fashion show! Poses, strutting, pouting…. you name it, we had it! I’m sure we’ll see a few catwalk models in the future! 😂 A great end to a fantastic DT project! 👏👏
👩🍳Happy Retirement Mrs Gould!👩🍳
Today, the whole school saw each other together for the first time since Covid began with a socially distanced outdoor picnic! 🧺 It was all to celebrate a wonderful 22 years of Mrs Gould feeding us and looking after us as our school cook! Happy, smiling faces surrounded the playground-it felt wonderful to have us all in one place and to be able to give Mrs G the send off she so deserves 🤩🥳
Thank you for all the wonderful Chicken Korma, soup and toasties and cheeky cheesy pasta (as christened by Ollie!) 😂😂 Onyx class wish you a fantastic retirement- we will miss you dearly 😘
🪴🐛⭐️Gardening Week Team Day ⭐️🐛🪴
Today was our Gardening Week Team Day and it was the best day! 🤩 Onyx class had lots of fun gardening, finding out what unusual creatures live in our school habitats, writing poems based on nature, designing new species of bird, bird watching and lots more.

Over the day, we held lots of team competitions. Everyone tried really hard but the overall winners were:-
Yellow team for the best Teamwork when designing their birds.

Blue team for using the best, most precise adjectives in their poems.
Blue and Green team for fantastic teamwork when gardening.

Green team for the most unusual and creative bird presentation.

Well done everyone! Mrs Booth and Mrs Coleman think you are BRILLIANT! 😁😁
🪴🪴Gardeners World comes to Sound🪴🪴
As part of Team Day, Onyx Class had more extreme fun gardening! In their teams, they all had a specific spot to work on and look after including: planting a new flower bed; filling and planting wellies; planting a new hanging basket; raking and seeding the old vegetable patch; planting wild flowers and filling and planting 4 new containers.
Every single person showed outstanding determination, hard work and worked as a superb team player. 👏 Mrs Coleman and I were so proud of each team and were wowed by the improvements made from the day before! ❤️
Have a look at our finished areas- haven’t they done an amazing job?! 👍

Padme, Mrs Booth’s beautiful Golden Retriever will be joining us in school after half term as our very own well-being dog! We are all looking forward to spending time with her and seeing all the fabulous ways she will be supporting the children across the school! 🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮

🪴Gardening, gardening, gardening! 🐛
Finally, the sun came out and Onyx Class got stuck into reviving and rejuvenating the entrance area to school.
Each team worked really hard trimming, chopping, digging, scraping, weeding and brushing. We even painted the fence and found a Chafer grub! Everyone showed superb resilience and great team work. We can’t wait for a spot of planting tomorrow! 🌱🌱🌱🌱
🪞💡Do you know how a periscope works? 🪞💡

Using the knowledge we learned last week about how light is reflected, we made our very own periscopes this afternoon and found out how they worked. We also had a think as to where this knowledge could be useful…..😂😂😂

🐞Mrs Booth’s Garden Challenge 🪶
As it’s National Gardening Week, it would be wrong if I didn’t set you a challenge about creatures and creepy crawlies! 🤣
Each of these pictures are of things that can be found in the UK. Your challenge is to find out what they are, where they are found and why they are rare… Good luck! 🤞
Psssst: everyone who answers correctly wins a prize this week!
🎓Onyx Class meet Brine Leas🎓

The Year 6s had a very special visitor this morning…. Mr Mottram from Brine Leas! They talked all about the school, what to expect, how things work and had the opportunity to ask any questions they wanted to! We are all really excited for the 3 (yes, not 1 but 3) transition days in June! 🤩
