Onyx Class had a wail of a time on Friday playing the games they made for homework.
Their mission: to design a game to be played with one other person of similar ability to test their use of appropriate connectives!
There were so many fantastically unique ideas, lots of colourful and fun resources and laughter certainly filled the air! The mission was definitely complete! ⭐️
Great work guys & your evaluations were even better! Well done! 👍

As part of National Writing Day & our transition work, Onyx Class worked really hard and produced some brilliant work based on the poem ‘I come from…..’

We brainstormed who we are and what makes us us. Even though it was pretty tricky for some of us (as it’s easier to talk about other people than ourselves) we used our resilience and kept on trying! 🤩
After that, we then had a go at writing our own first drafts: even Mrs Booth and Mrs Coleman had a go! Here are some examples that we are particularly proud of!
Well done everyone! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This afternoon Onyx Class got stuck into making and kneading their own pizza’s from scratch.
The simultaneous egg cracking was of gold medal standard: not one piece of egg shell was dropped in anyone’s mixture! Wow! 🥚
We are so proud of your skills and hope you enjoy eating them later on? Hang on…… don’t I need to try them first?!?!😂

Wow, I feel like the Queen! The Queen of Sound! 👑

I have had a fabulous two days meeting all of the wonderful children at Sound and know that we will be the best of friends!

I have been patted, stroked, tickled, massaged….. life couldn’t get any better!

Thank you for all my extra cards and thank you Harry for my special treats- doggie biscuits! Yum! Oh and well done Year 2 boys for winning the Cricket for me- I love it! 🥰

I can’t wait to spend lots of time with you all in September!

Lots of love,
Padme 🐾

This week it’s French week and as part of it we are doing lots of learning around the Tour de France 🚴♂️🚵🚴

Your challenge this week is to design and make a poster advertising the Tour de France. Try and use as many different Art skills and media as you can.
There are prizes for the most unique and ‘different’ pieces that grab the audience’s attention….. 🏆🏆🏆
Good luck everyone! 🤩
I’ve had a great weekend climbing with Mum and Dad at The Roaches. I love smelling the fresh air and talking to all the other people walking by!

Whilst I was enjoying myself, I couldn’t help but wander what all my friends at Sound have been doing this weekend….

I’d love it if you could chat to me about your weekend when we meet this week, or, if you can’t wait that long, why don’t you draw me a picture or write me a note and post it in my letter box? I can’t wait to hear all about you!

Lots of love,
Padme 🐾
Would you know what to do if someone was drowning? Onyx Class would! 💦
As part of Drowning Prevention Week, we discussed what dangers there could be around different water courses. We know that in Nantwich we have canals, rivers, ponds, lakes and reservoirs that are all areas that ourselves and others could get into difficulties, especially in the hot weather. 🥵
We then went outside and learnt how to rescue someone! Despite having no water in sight, we shouted for help, found something to help our victims float or to reach with, encouraged our swimmer to kick their legs, kept them talking and made them feel safe when they made it to land! 💪

Maybe one day one of us will save someone’s life with this knowledge? 🤞
Well done Onyx! 🤩
This week our wonderful Year 5&6 pupils took part in virtual Primary College!
It is an annual event run by South Cheshire College where we get to take part in a range of interactive activities, developed by their expert tutors and employer partners, to find out more about different careers.
After a democratic vote, Onyx class decided they wanted to have a go at the activities below:
Altimex- they learnt all about robotics and automation. They even designed their own robots!

Engineering- they learnt about state-of-the-art engineering equipment and used their problem solving skills to build free-standing, paper towers.
Hairdressing- they created a festive look using braiding and plaits!
Visual Arts- they learnt to draw fun portraits with Art lecturer Iain!
Even though we were disappointed that we couldn’t do these at the college, we had such a fabulous time in school and learnt sooo much! Thank you Primary college for all your hard work setting this up! 🤩
