Art comes in many shapes and sizes; many styles and forms. Some people paint landscapes in watercolours while others photograph mouldy pieces of fruit! Art is magical! 🪄
All these pieces of Art have been inspired by people who love dogs (just like we love our school doggy Padme!) ❤️ But, my question is, which artistic techniques and skills have these artists used to create these masterpieces? Give your answers to your Team Captain and we will award the 🏆 to the team who are the closest!
Miss Poppleton and Miss Williams-Day had the most wonderful day meeting lots of our lovely new starters at a socially distanced door stop drop today! 😊✨
It was so lovely to see everyone’s smiley faces and to hear that all the children are so excited to start at our amazing School! 😊 We really can’t wait for you to join our Sound Family soon!
Each of our new starters was given a special Diamond Bear and his diary. 🐻 Diamond Bear loves adventures and can’t wait to spend the summer with our new starters! We can’t wait to read the diaries in September and to see all the fun Diamond Bear and the children get up to! ☺️
Thank you for a perfect day Reception Class 21-22! We already can’t wait to see you all again soon!
Ps- Remember to pop your magnet in your happy place! 😊 🌟
Diamond Bear and his special diary! A magnet of your new teachers 😊Special deliveries!!!! 😀
Our wonderful Year 5’s learn this brilliant Paralympic sport first, refined their skills and then taught the Year 6’s! Accuracy and patience were the name of the game!
Finally, the Y6’s set up mini activities to teach their Reception buddies and help them to throw with increasing skill.
Buddy time!
We had a brilliant time and have definitely fallen in love with the game! Great job everyone! 👍
Can you believe after all our hard work revamping the garden area at the front of school a few weeks ago, that the weeds had made a sneaky comeback? 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Well, they were no match for our amazing, green-fingered Year 5s who got to work today to help the flowers breathe again! Phew!!!Thank you guys-great job! 🙏
To add to the sporting theme of National Sports Week, the Year 5s had great fun this morning consolidating their co-ordinates learning in Active Maths!
At first they found it really tough, but with some brilliant teamwork and amazing resilience they all totally smashed it! 💪
First of all we were presented with our ‘It’s Your Move’ books that have been kindly donated by Sound and Broomhall chapel! A huge thank you to Mr and Mrs Taylor! ❤️
We shared the things we are excited about and also the things that are worrying us. We realised that it is natural to be a little bit anxious about change. We discussed lots of things to help us like: asking for help if we are lost, packing our bags the night before and making lists of the things we need each day.
Live with Mr Mottram!
After this, we logged into a LIVE Zoom session with Mr Mottram from Brine Leas and all the other Primary Schools in Nantwich. How cool is that! We even spotted some of our friends from other schools on there! 🤝
Getting warmed up- what do you think to our facial expressions?
Next up, we took part in a Drama session with Miss Dunning to learn how lessons will be structured at High School and the kind of things we will be learning about.
We learnt that a still image is a frozen picture that tells a story. We used this drama skill in a team performance, working hard to use different levels, to choose a good focal point, show effective facial expressions, use strong body language and to think about the ‘w’s- who, what, where, when and why. Both teams worked incredibly hard and improved in leaps and bounds! Have a look at them in action! Wow! 😎🤩
Excellent teamwork! Wow! 🤩
We are really looking forward to taking part in more virtual lessons this week! Engineering, media and food…. life couldn’t get any better! 😃
Year 6s-the High Schools are very lucky to be having you! You make me soo proud! 🌟🌟
This is Callum’s badge from Whitchurch Rugby Club (minus the words inside!)
Onyx Class had a wail of a time taking part in their Rugby taster session yesterday with Crewe and Nantwich Rugby Club. This was our first activity of National Sports Week and we had THE BEST TIME!
Bulldog was the best fun!
We practised all the key skills through lots of fun games such as Turtle Tag and Bulldog. Our aim was to complete all the drills to the best of our ability, giving 100% effort. Every single person did this and showed what excellent sportsmanship they have! Well done Onyx Class!
A huge congratulations goes to Caprice & Will who were chosen as those who made the most progress. Summer and Andrew also achieved the most effort awards! Yey! 🏅🏅🏅🏅
