❤️ Emotional Coaching Ambassadors ❤️

Today we were very excited to welcome a special visitor into school- Cole Ashley from Achievement For All. He worked with two groups of Year 5&6 pupils throughout the day and taught them all about the art of Emotional Coaching. They all conducted themselves brilliantly and they can’t wait to start using their skills and knowledge to help all our children to become more emotionally literate across the school! Watch this space…

🥰 Buddy Time! 🥰

On Friday Reception Class met their special Year 6 buddies for the very first time! We absolutely loved getting to know our buddies and already can’t wait to spend more time with them next Friday!

We loved showing our buddies around our classroom and getting to know them by asking them questions such as what is their favourite colour and favourite toys! 😀💙

We will be meeting our buddies every Friday afternoon for 20minutes! 😀

❤️ Woof Date: I’m sooo excited to see you! ❤️

Hello my fabulous Sound Family,

I hope you’ve had an amazing summer! I’ve been super busy playing with the cats; helping with the extension; going on lots of walks; being groomed and spending lots of time with my family!!! 😎

Waiting in the car ready to come to school…

Mum has just cleaned the car out which is making me jump up and down with joy as I know it can only mean one thing: seeing all of you again on Thursday! 😍 I have missed you all soo much and I can not wait to sit down with you and listen to all the exciting things you have been doing (whilst being stroked & cuddled of course!) I am especially excited to meet the new Reception children and make even more friends-WELCOME TO THE SOUND FAMILY! Yey! 🤩

I’m soo happy to be seeing my Sound friends again!

Padme’s Postbox Challenge: This week in my postbox I’d like you to draw a picture or write to me about what makes you smile! 😄 I smile when I see my friends and when you tickle me behind my right ear! Remember to add in lots of details and colour… I can’t wait to get reading!

Lots of lots,

Padme 🐾

⭐️Y6 Superstar Leavers⭐️

The day had finally come…. the last day before Y6 moved onto High School! What a day it has been!

First up, the whole school managed to get outside in the glorious sun where we held a whole school presentation ceremony. The leavers received their thesauruses and their memory books and we presented our Sports Personality and Progress Plate.

A HUGE congratulations goes to Callum for Sports Personality and Evie for gaining the plate. We are really proud of them, as we are of them all! 🤩

Next, we managed a socially distanced T-shirt signing session where every class wrote some special words on the children’s shirts whilst enjoying the outdoors. We have never used so many wipes and sanitiser, but it was all worth it and the 6’s will treasure these forever! Will’s even getting his framed!

Finally, all the children in the school had great fun watching the wonderful Leavers’ Assembly. There were lots of laughs and a LOT of tears (in Onyx Class!) We hope all the Year 6 families enjoyed the ham and Peppa Pig as much as we did, & didn’t sob too much at the end?!

We wish all our Year 6 children the most amazing future: keep smiling, keep being you and go get ‘em!

Happy Summer everyone! 😎

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿We are so proud of you England!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

This morning we held a special assembly to think about how we were all feeling after England’s defeat in the Euros Final. We thought about how the players must be feeling and we talked about how it is OK to feel disappointed when we don’t win or get something we have worked hard for.

We then looked at what an amazing team England have been and what fantastic role models they have been for us all. Teamwork, pride and strength were just some of the words we used to describe them 🤩.

Next, we thought about how we could all learn from the England Team and what attributes the Sound Team can take from them:- determination, trying hard, championing others, supportive, unity, bravery, inclusiveness …. the list was endless!

Even though England lost, we are still all so proud of them and thank them for being such wonderful ambassadors. We can’t wait for the World Cup next year and maybe, just maybe, football will come home! 🏆

💤😎Year 6 Sleepover & Activity Day 😎💤

It started at 5pm with the kitchen sink packed and HUGE smiles all around! (I’m not sure whether the parents were more excited or the children!) First up was den building- Boys v Girls! The boys worked on camouflaging their den whilst the girls focussed on organising their sweet table and lining up their shoes! Boys 1 v Girls 0! Next came the singing! The girls wrote their own lyrics whilst the boys improvised and even added in some grooves! Boys 2 v Girls 0!

Lots of fun and games followed. Splat, Zombie Tag, Wink Murder- you name it, we played it! Boys 5 v Girls 2!

After a quick sweet stop, we headed across to Forest Schools to meet Mrs Ashley and our camp fire (no sleepover is complete without s’mores and hot chocolate!) A lot of singing and memory telling later, we headed back over to get changed into our ambush gear (the boys were fully prepared!). Grabbing our torches, we played Boys v Girls EXTREME Hide and Seek! It was brilliant! After a lot of expert searching and finding in the dark, the boys gained an extra 2 points! Boys 7 v Girls 2!

Finally, it was time to clean teeth and get tucked up in bed! We can’t say we all had 8 hours, but our dens certainly worked a treat! 💤

After a VERY long night, we awoke to beautiful sunshine and another fantastic day of fun! After packing away and getting the classrooms back together, we headed into the hall for a yummy bacon or sausage bap cooked by Mrs Burt! Breakfast had never tasted so good!

Then, it was time for a very apt activity…. BUBBLE FOOTBALL! We had soo much fun playing loads of different games, bashing into people and getting stuck upside down! Even Mrs Booth got to have a go, whilst being chased by Luke, Will and Callum!

Finally, the afternoon was filled with crazy team games, lots of fun and laughter, ice lollies and Peppa Pig cake (all will become clear in the Leavers Assembly!😉)

We had the best time and made soo many more memories that we are never, ever going to forget!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO MRS ALLEN, MRS COLEMAN, MRS BOOTH, MRS BURT AND MRS ASHLEY for giving the Y6s a brilliant sleep over and activity day! YOU ARE ALL WONDERFUL! ❤️

🥎Rocketing Rounders!🥎

Red Team smashed it! 🏆

After a fantastic half term of Rounders, we ended our unit with an inter-house competition! Every team played their hearts out, the improvement in skill was immense and the attitude, sportsmanship and teamwork was second to non! The children really showed that they had learnt important lessons from the England defeat last night.

Overall, the scores were close, but we ended with:

🟡- 4 points

🟢🔵- 6 points

🔴- 8 points

🤩WELL DONE RED TEAM!🤩
