🤩🤩🤩Super spelling homework in Onyx class 🤩🤩🤩

Well, the smell said it all! Yuck, yuck, yuck! The tomatoes however looked really well preserved considering that they had been left for 2 weeks! Unfortunately, our apples didn’t survive as well! So, the moral of the investigation…… if you were an Egyptian tomato, you would have lasted longer in the afterlife than an Egyptian apple!!!😂😂😂

Diamond Class have had a wonderful first half term. We have been super busy and wanted to share some of what we have been up to!

Diamond class have had a great day. We made a rhyming potion, created magic wands and used pumpkin seeds to help us with our maths work.

This morning started with a spooky multiplication mosaic followed by a zombie active Maths duel outside revisiting written multiplication 🧟♂️. Next up, we dissected Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18 and wrote our own Halloween versions! 🧛🕷🦇 They were hauntingly good!!! 👻 This afternoon, we made crazy, creepy houses using our knowledge of electrical circuits and finally we explored our pumpkin trail, whilst finding Halloween anagrams and number puzzles! 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃All this and it’s only 22nd!!! Happy Halloween everyone! From Onyx class! 🦇🧟♂️🕷🧛Boo!

Today is the first Team day of the year and as we can’t do it in our usual fashion, we have decided to mix it up a bit….. look at all these scary faces!!!!! 😱

We had a fantastic morning going on the hunt for a Gruffalo! The children were great at remembering the story, we pretended to be the mouse going for a walk in the deep, dark wood!, we used our listening ears to find signs of which animal would be next. Well done Diamond Class for fantastic listening!

Ever tried mummifying a tomato???? Well, Onyx Class did today! After studying how the Ancient Egyptians prepared their dead for the afterlife, we all got stuck in: pulling out the insides of our tomato’s; cleansing them in antibacterial gel to remove any bacteria and then embalming them in an equal mixture of salt and bicarbonate of soda. The Egyptians used to leave them for 40 days; we can’t wait to see what happens to them over time! Exciting.com!

In PSHE, Onyx class have been thinking about families. We realised that everyone’s family is different and that even though they come in all shapes and sizes, family is still important and special. On Friday, we can’t wait to write our own story books for our buddies…😍
