Forest school or Rainforest school?

Yesterday at forest school, Opal class were learning about the tropical rainforests.

We looked at where tropical rain forests are located and compared the conditions in our forest school to the conditions in a tropical rain forest.

We can’t wait to see what we are doing next week!

Bird seed investigation progress

During gardening week Opal class planted some bird seed to see what grew. So far we have lots of shoots and we are looking forward to watching them continue to grow.

Opal class sunflower diaries

It seems the sunflower seeds we planted are slightly temperamental and some growing brilliantly while others not growing at all.

If your sunflower is not growing at home you may bring your diaries back in to school and we will use our demonstration sunflowers to fill them in as part of our early work.

Brilliant bird seed

As part of our learning during gardening week, we decided to investigate what was in bird seed.

Each group was given a hand full of bird seed to investigate and create a tally of the ingredients found in their bird seed

Once our tallys were finished we planted some of the seeds we found to see what (if anything) would grow.
