Using the knowledge we learned last week about how light is reflected, we made our very own periscopes this afternoon and found out how they worked. We also had a think as to where this knowledge could be useful…..😂😂😂

This afternoon the children had a wonderful time creating feeders for the local birds! 🪵🪶🦉

As it’s National Gardening Week, it would be wrong if I didn’t set you a challenge about creatures and creepy crawlies! 🤣

Each of these pictures are of things that can be found in the UK. Your challenge is to find out what they are, where they are found and why they are rare… Good luck! 🤞
Psssst: everyone who answers correctly wins a prize this week!

The Year 6s had a very special visitor this morning…. Mr Mottram from Brine Leas! They talked all about the school, what to expect, how things work and had the opportunity to ask any questions they wanted to! We are all really excited for the 3 (yes, not 1 but 3) transition days in June! 🤩

☔️ The weather didn’t dampen our spirits yesterday and although we didn’t get to go outside we enjoyed an afternoon of designing our own dream gardens!
Our gardens included fruit and veg patches, bird tables, fruit trees, ponds, insects we would like to live in our garden and much more!
We had so much fun! Fingers crossed for lovely sunshine today! ☀️🐛

As part of National Gardening Week, the children designed their ideal fruit and vegetable patches. There were such a range of wonderful fruit and vegetables across their designs! Take a look below!

Did you know that there are around 300,000 different types of fruits and vegetables grown across the world! 😲

As part of National Gardening Week, the children chose a creature from the garden to create a Fact File about. Lots of amazing facts were discovered!! Did you know that male moths can smell female moths from a distance of 7 miles ? Unbelievable!!

Topaz class have been exceptionally productive this morning at the start of Gardening Week. Our area is the front of school so our first job was to weed, scrape, tidy and collect all the weeds and debris that has accumulated over the last few years.
As you can see by the pictures, the children have started off fantastically and are looking forward to continuing our tidying up tomorrow. Well done Topaz class !!

It has been worth waiting for!
Dandelion Poems
Keeping in the theme of gardening, Topaz class have written exceptionally creative poems today about dandelion seed heads. You will never look at them the same again.

We have loved visiting Forest School the last few weeks and our final week so no different! Even the rain didn’t stop us. We had a visit from Dave (the hen) and enjoyed the mud!! A big thank you to Rachel for taking us! 🙂
