On Monday afternoon we had our whole school awards ceremony celebrating all of our wonderful achievements this year!

I couldn’t be prouder to call myself your teacher and I feel so lucky to have been able to watch you change and grow over the last year! I feel even luckier that I am able to keep watching you flourish as you move into year 2!

We had a wonderful superstar assembly today! Mrs Minshall-Thomas shared lots of photographs from the whole year at school and Reception loved to see and talk about the amazing things they have done this year! What a fun and busy year it has been!

Well done Diamonds you have all worked so hard and fully deserve your superstar certificates! Well done for being such a super class!

Diamond class artists

We had yet another busy day being brilliant artists! We used oil pastels to make different flower shapes on the paper and we loved seeing the effect when we added brusho on top so we could see the white outline! Diamond Class also worked super hard to make their flower paintings! We looked at the different colours and explored how we could create vibrant flowers! Thank you to those who brought in flowers that we could use as inspiration!

Look at our super oil pastel flowers too! We painted over the flowers with brusho to really highlight the shapes we made! We can’t wait to continue with this piece where we will use more materials to create a multimedia effect!

This afternoon’s assembly was a real pleasure awarding the children their Superstar Awards for all their hard work this year.

Onyx Class finished off National Sports Week with a fantastic Football session from Kyle at Sportscape. They are now more than ready to step into Gareth Southgate’s team should they need a new sub! Go Onyx Class! ⚽️

🏐Unreal Netball 🏐

Onyx Class got to show off their amazing Netball skills last Friday with a taster session with Sian from Ladyhawks Netball Club.

They really did themselves proud and showed off everything they had learned in the Autumn Term. Superb passing, death defying defending and brilliant dodging! I’m sure we will be seeing a lot more of these fantastic athletes in Netball teams and leagues in the future. Watch out Manchester Thunder and Loughborough Lightning, Onyx Class are on their way! 💪

🍎Yummy Scrummy Apple Pie🍏

Last Wednesday Onyx class continued their cookery sessions and made the most delicious Apple Pies! They worked hard peeling, cutting and chopping, but the hardest part was making the pastry from scratch. They all used their resilience and perseverance skills and managed to produce a tasty treat to go home with in the end!

A few comments after eating them say it all:

“It was the most delicious thing I’d ever tasted!”

“My dad doesn’t really like Apple Pie but he tried some and then wanted more!”

Great job Onyx Class! You really are the best! 😁
