Today the children enjoyed their cricket session with Cheshire Cricket. We learnt how to play a new game – 5 lives- and I was really impressed by everyone’s batting and sportsmanship.
Well done Topaz class !

This afternoon Ruby Class had great fun in the sun taking part in a range of different sporting activities. We worked in teams and competed to be the best we could be! We did a relay, worked on our ball control skills, worked on our aim and throw in javelin, worked on batting and fielding in rounders and much much more! 😊 We loved it!
Ps- Look at those big smiley faces! 😊😊😊
I was so impressed to see such excellent sportsmanship and incredible resilience! I am so proud of Ruby Class! ⭐️ Keep it up!!
Challenge: How about setting up your own sporting activities for you and your family to take part in at home this week? Send pictures through to admin@sound.cheshire.sch.uk if you do please as we would love to see them! 😊 🎾 🏉⚽️

Wow, wow, wow! 😊🏏 Ruby Class had the best morning taking part in an All Star Cricket taster session with Harry!
Harry taught us how to catch, bat and bowl like a pro!! We played lots of games and really developed our batting and fielding skills! 🏏❤️ Ruby Class were smiling all morning and have already asked when we are next playing cricket. I think Miss Poppleton might need to dig out the bats again soon!
Ruby class you ROCKED! 😊 🪨
Next stop- Dance!! 🎶 🕺 💃

A HUGE thank you to Harry from All Stars Cricket for teaching Onyx Class this afternoon.
Well done to Jack and Lily for gaining the 💯 % effort awards! 🏅🏅

What a fun filled afternoon Emerald Class had working together to take part in a range of sporting activities! The aim of the afternoon was to improve and better ourselves and I was blown away to see the children doing just that.
Take a look at some of the wonderful things the children got up to!

Emerald Class have been learning all about money today! The children learnt to recognise the different coins we use and the symbols for pounds (£) and pence (p). We began to discuss how to can combine different coins to make amounts.
Challenge: Can you play shops that home? Decide what to sell – raid the kitchen cupboard, toy box or wardrobe to create a shop. Price up the items with sticky notes and take turns to be the shopper and shopkeeper! 💰🛒🛍

The children in Emerald Class loved their taster cricket session with Harry from All Star Cricket! 🏏🌟 They played lots of games which developed their batting and fielding skills.
Well done Emerald class, you were AMAZING!! 🤩💚

Onyx Class had a wail of a time taking part in their Rugby taster session yesterday with Crewe and Nantwich Rugby Club. This was our first activity of National Sports Week and we had THE BEST TIME!

We practised all the key skills through lots of fun games such as Turtle Tag and Bulldog. Our aim was to complete all the drills to the best of our ability, giving 100% effort. Every single person did this and showed what excellent sportsmanship they have! Well done Onyx Class!

A huge congratulations goes to Caprice & Will who were chosen as those who made the most progress. Summer and Andrew also achieved the most effort awards! Yey! 🏅🏅🏅🏅

Our special question of the week is linked to…Sport of course in honour of National Sports Week!! 😊
What is the name of the football competition going on in Europe right now? 😊⚽️
Extra points awarded if you can name this footballer? 👇👇👇 and tell me who he plays for?
Come and tell Miss P secretly (and super quietly 🤫) to win a special prize!

⚽️
Yippee!!! What a wonderful start to the National Sports Week! Ruby Class had the best time at their taster session with Crewe and Nantwich Rugby Club this afternoon! 🏉
We loved learning how to pass the rugby ball correctly and how to score a try! We played lots of super games such as stuck in the mud (rugby style!) and bulldog! We were smiling from start to end! Look at us in action below.👇
Next stop- Cricket! Remember to pop back tomorrow to see how we get on in 🏏 cricket!
If your child has come home enthused following their rugby taster session today then please pop a note in the communication diary and I will direct you to how they can sign up! 😊🏉👌
