The morning started with looking at how other cultures and countries celebrate Easter around the world. We were really shocked at some of the traditions, particularly the Hungarian men throwing water over women in exchange for painted eggs! š¤£
Next up we held a debate: Should people who are not Christian celebrate Easter and Christmas? This was an interesting topic, getting us all thinking and backing up our thoughts with real life examples. In the end, a larger proportion of the class thought that they should be allowed in order to show respect for Christianity, to help shops and businesses make money and also to enable people to keep the Easter story alive.
After a spot of Easter coordinates, we used our wonderful outside area to act out our Easter bunny myths. We focussed on narration, working with the audience and using the natural environment to showcase our stories. The myths were fabulous! š
